This Autumn edition reflects the richness of the leaves turning at the end of the Japanese Autumn, just before they all fall and the cold winter comes. Featuring a deep burgundy colour that is inspired by the rich autumn colours of Boshū, the ‘sekki’ or season when the trees that surround the Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi in northern Japan change in hue and announce that winter is just around the corner. ‘The Nature of Time’ theme features prominently in Grand Seiko watch designs – a Japanese spirituality where each moment is a unique expression unveiled through light and shadow. The watchmakers’ pride in their surroundings is represented from engineering watch movements which emulate the smooth motion of time passing, to creating dials reflecting the beauty of Japanese nature.
